A New Chapter for Albania and Commit

March 27, 2025, marked an important day not only for Albania but also for our reality: Davide Rogai, our CSO & CMO, was elected President of Confindustria Albania for the 2025–2029 term.

This appointment fills us with pride, as our presence in Tirana is thanks largely — and above all — to his vision, to the trust he has always placed in this country’s potential, and to the deep connection he has built and nurtured since 2014.

It all started with a three-day mission

It all began in 2014, when Davide traveled to Tirana for the first time. Three days, few contacts, many uncertainties — but one clear idea: to build a bridge between Florence and Albania by creating an operational hub dedicated to software development that could harness the talents of young local professionals.

From that vision and that first trip, the Albanian branch of Commit Software was born — today known as Growing Tree Shpk — where Davide became sole administrator the following year. This is where the first Commit team outside of Italy took shape: five young developers — three men and two women — selected after a tailored training program.

Tirana, a second home

That small team has grown over the years, along with our commitment to education through workshops, collaborations with universities, and mentoring programs. Over time, we have become a reference point for Albanian developers, never losing sight of what matters most to us: the human value of work.

In Tirana, our colleagues are not just “resources”; they are people with whom we have built solid and genuine relationships, investing in their personal and professional growth. Some of them have even come to Italy and settled in Tuscany, strengthening even further a bond that by now transcends borders. For us, Tirana is not just a place of work — it is truly a second home. And for the past year, so is Shkodër.

Growing together, across borders

Thanks to his hands-on experience in the field, Davide has witnessed firsthand Albania’s extraordinary economic and cultural transformation. It is a country that today offers immense opportunities, especially in the technology and digital sectors — where there is a palpable energy and a genuine desire to grow. Yet it is also a landscape that presents challenges, particularly in the areas of soft skills and practical training.

That is exactly where we chose to step in, providing concrete tools to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the job market. We encountered talent, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to build. And in return, we always delivered what we promised.

In Albania, keeping one’s word — besa — is sacred. We honored it, day after day, and that made all the difference. This is how we earned the trust of a people who, too often, had been disappointed by those who came from Italy only to take, without building anything lasting.

Over time, our relationship with our Albanian colleagues has become something that goes beyond work: a real team, a family, a bond built on mutual respect and trust.

A center of excellence between Shkodër and Tirana

In 2024, with the integration of Dilaxia — a digital company based in Bologna with offices in Shkodër — we joined forces to create Dilaxia Nova: a company that combines the strengths of two complementary businesses, both driven by innovation. Today we count on a team of over 50 experts, specializing in bespoke software development and continuous 24/7 monitoring.

Another key milestone in a project that is always looking further ahead.

A story of community, a commitment to the future

In his first speech as President of Confindustria Albania, Davide shared a personal anecdote: the flood that hit his neighborhood in Sesto Fiorentino and the extraordinary mobilization of young people to restore the destroyed parish center.

A powerful metaphor about community, commitment, and a shared future — the very same values that will continue to guide Davide’s work in Albania, serving a new generation of Italian entrepreneurs in a country undergoing profound transformation.

Best wishes from the entire team

On behalf of the entire Commit team, we wholeheartedly wish Davide the very best for this new and important venture. We are confident that his experience, vision, and energy will bring added value to the entire Italian-Albanian business community.
